I am committed to helping women have wholistic birth experiences.
All too often, women experience traumatic births because they either do not have the necessary information or they do not have the support to help them navigate the process of birth and make informed decisions.
As a doula, I support mothers through birth and the postpartum period and I help them explore ways to practice self love while they transition into motherhood. Having a baby is a life changing experience and should be treated as sacred.
Hiring a doula can help you better identify your expectations and desires surrounding your pregnancy and birth experience and help you prepare a plan that supports your desired birth outcome. During the postpartum period, a doula can play a vital role in your physical and emotional recovery and provide information and tools to help you better care for yourself and your new baby.
Labor support has been shown to improve positive birth outcomes for women.
To prepare for labor, I meet you prenatally to get to know you and better understand your birth goals and desires. I help you identify what is important to you and help you draft up a birth plan that takes into account the specific needs of your family.
I am present with you during labor providing comfort measures, positioning suggestions and massage. I stay with you post delivery to help facilitate the initiation of breastfeeding and bonding.
Postpartum care provides moms and families an opportunity to rest and recover after the pregnancy and birth process. The first six weeks after birth is a crucial time for your recovery and bonding with the infant and having physical and emotional support can help speed recovery and reduce the risk of postpartum depression.
Postpartum support includes infant care, sibling care, breastfeeding support, errands, laundry and meal preparation. Postpartum care can be 4 hours of daytime support or 8 hours of overnight support.
